Scope of processing personal data

You do not need to share your personal data with us to merely visit the website of avedos.

We generally only collect and use the personal data of our users when this is necessary to provide a functional web site, our content and services.

The collection and usage of the personal data of our users takes place regularly only with the user’s consent. An exception does apply in cases where obtaining prior consent is not possible for reasons of fact or law and the processing of this data is permitted by law.

We use the opt-in method to obtain consent. The data you have entered will be saved. Furthermore, we will use your data to improve the service offerings and for the purposes of advertising for products and services from avedos. After you have entered your data, we will send a confirmation email to the email address you have entered. This email will ask you to confirm your data. If you confirm this information, we will use your data accordingly.

If not, your data will be deleted after you have received a reminder email. To document your declaration of consent, we will also save your IP address along with the date and time of the registration and confirmation of the newsletter.

Using contact, registration and applications forms

You can contact us directly using the contact, registration and application forms provided on the avedos website. We collect, process and use the information that you have entered in such a form for the sole purpose of processing your specific concern. Registration is required for avedos webinars. Required fields for the registration are your name, valid email address, company name and job title.


If you have registered for an avedos event, we will process the data you have provided to organize the event. You agree that your data will be transferred if necessary to a business partner of avedos.

GRC alert

If you have registered for the avedos GRC alert, we will process the data you have provided to send the newsletter. By registering for the GRC alert, you agree that avedos may contact you by email to improve its service offerings and inform you about products and services including for marketing purposes.

Your data will be deleted when you terminate your GRC alert subscription. You can revoke your subscription at any time by clicking the respective link in the GRC alert or by sending an email to

To create and send our email campaigns, we use the software dialog-Mail from the Austrian company, dialog-Mail eMarketing Systems GmbH, based in Nussgasse 31, 3434 Wilfersdorf, Austria.

We use this software to analyze open rates and clicks so we can adapt our information offerings to the needs of our users and provide the readers with targeted information. We do not analyze IP addresses. The complete data is processed by dialog-Mail in a highly secure data center in Vienna. You can terminate your subscription to the mail service (e.g. newsletter) by sending us an email stating your wish to unsubscribe.

If you want to modify or correct your data, you can also use the respective link in each email or contact us by email. If you unsubscribe to all of our newsletters and we and not required to archive your data due to other regulations, we will delete your data once you have successfully unsubscribed.


If you have registered for the risk2value.library, we will process the data provided in order to grant you access and send you the login data.

You also have the possibility to participate in the risk2value product improvement program. As part of this program, we collect and analyze data on your user behavior in order to optimize our products. Participation is voluntary and requires a separate consent beyond that for the standard usage of the risk2value.library. Purely anonymized data are not affected.


We use cookies when you visit the avedos website. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the cache of your browser. b) Plug-ins

We use social media plug-ins in order to recommend and share content of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Xing. In doing so, we follow a two-step procedure. Data will be first transferred to third parties when the user clicks on one of the icons displayed in the social media bar. We have no influence on or access to cookies that are used by Facebook, Twitter, Xing, etc.

Our website also uses plug-ins from YouTube, which is a site operated by Google. The operator of the site is: YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit one of our web pages with a YouTube plug-in, a connection will be made to the servers at YouTube as soon as you play a video. The YouTube server will be informed which of our sites you have visited.

Cookie – Duration

Some cookies (session cookies) only remain active for the time until the browser is closed or the user logs out. Some cookies remain after the browser has been closed and are available for later visits to the website by the user. They are referred to as persistent or permanent cookies. The server determines the duration of their existence when they are generated. A fixed deadline is set is some cases while the duration is limited in another fashion for others.

Legal grounds for processing personal data

Whenever we obtain the consent of the affected person for the processing of personal data, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) shall serve as the legal basis for processing personal data.

When processing personal data that is necessary to fulfill a contract in which the contracting party is the affected individual, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR shall serve as the legal basis. This also applies to processing steps that are necessary to carry out measures prior to the contract agreement.

Whenever the processing of personal data is required to fulfill a legal obligation, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR shall serve as the legal basis.

If processing is necessary to uphold a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the affected individual do not outweigh the interests referenced above, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR shall serve as the legal basis for processing.

Deleting data and the duration of storage

The personal data of the affected individual will be deleted or locked as soon as the purpose for saving them no longer exists. After that time, the data can only be saved when it was intended by European or national lawmakers in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the responsible party must comply.

The data is also locked or deleted when the previously described storage period for the norms described has expired unless it is necessary to further save the data in order to conclude or fulfill the contract.

avedos strives to observe the copyrights of the used graphics, audio files, video sequences and texts and utilize self-made graphics, audio files, video sequences and texts or license-free graphics, audio files, video sequences and texts in all publications. All copyrights and trademarks that are named on the website and, if applicable, are protected by third parties and subject to the full terms of the currently valid copyright laws and ownership rights of the respectively registered owners. A mere mentioning of the name does lead to the conclusion that trademarks are not protected by the rights of third parties!
